Grilled Meatloaf Sandwich with Bacon Jam 12.95
What to do with 30 lbs. of Angus strip steak trimmings? Make meatloaf! A basic recipe of egg, breadcrumbs, salt and pepper will do the trick, then put a thick slice on butter-griddled bread with a little cheddar, a swipe of mustard-mayo, and a big dollop of bacon jam. The meat is juicy, the bacon jam is sweet and smoky, and the combination is kind of like what Mom made, only more so! Served with fries and vinaigrette-dressed greens. 12.95
‘Dog Salad 12.95
This is a salad based on the Chicago hot dog, and its popularity here at the restaurant has grown to heights we never imagined. Crunchy romaine and cabbage are tossed with cut-up tomatoes, scallions, cucumbers, chopped pickle and banana pepper rings. The vegetation is dressed with a ballpark mustard vinaigrette that is so good, I don’t know, it just is. One big quarter-pound, all-beef, locally-made (Columbus) hotdog is thickly sliced on the diagonal, grilled on the flat-top until charred and crispy around the edges, and piled on top of the salad. The whole is topped with a tangle of crispy fried onions and served with warm toast. This is one of those “sum is greater than the parts” culinary experiences, and what can I say, it’s Da Bomb!
Salmon Burger 11.95
Brushed with a ginger-soy marinade, seared to a moist interior, served on a toasted kaiser roll slathered with spicy mayo and piled with sesame-lime slaw, this thick patty made from wild-caught salmon makes a very tasty burger. Served with vinaigrette-dressed greens or hot fries.
Brauny’s National Pork Summit Shaved Pork Loin Sandwich 13.95
Our Sous Chef Aaron Braun took 2nd place in the Ohio Pork Council’s Chef Competition in Columbus, and was promptly sent to Iowa for the National Pork Summit. This sandwich stems from the one he made while cooking there, and man is it delicious. The pork is brined and cooked to detailed specifics, then shaved and stacked on griddled sesame bread. The sandwich is spread generously with chimichurri cream cheese and piled with a zucchini-radish-carrot slaw. Last but not least, a layer of crispy, housemade pork rinds give irresistible crunch. Enjoy the sandwich that stood us proud in Iowa!
Banh Mi – Vietnamese Chicken Sandwich 12.95
A French/Vietnamese hybrid and one of our most popular sandwiches. Here’s the French part – buttered baguette is toasted and spread with a thin layer of Nueske’s smoked liver pate. Then the Vietnamese part – on the pate we pile Viet-marinated chicken, house-pickled carrot and daikon radish, fresh jalapeno slices and cilantro. The other side of the baguette is slathered with spicy sushi mayo, and goes on top. The rich, smoky pate is in the background – not too assertive at all. The fresh ingredients sing out, the mayo adds zing, and the crusty yet tender Boosalis baguette brings it all together. If you don’t like it too spicy, ask that the jalapenos be left off, but what a shame. Served with fries or vinaigrette-dressed greens.
